NDTV Turns 20 Today

I can distinctly recall growing up watching The World This Week, which was a weekly affair. Only because of this news programme that we were allowed to watch TV on Friday nights. Prannoy Roy looking dashing with his trademark beard surely was very impressive. In those old Doordarshan days, the news bulletin was surely a great relief. As time passed NDTV has expanded and is now a network. As NDTV(New Delhi Television) turned 20 today and they have put up a small capsule on their site here which recounts their journey. Watch out for Prannoy Roy who talks passionately about their humble beginning and especially the part where he talks about his wife, Radhika Roy, the real brain behind the channel.

NDTV scores a cut above the rest with their Clarity, audio, video coverage and delivery. The whole package is very pleasingly acceptable. This is one team which has not let me down in so many years!

And when you are tired and complain about your job – Think of the unemployed, the disabled, and those who wish they had your job. 

But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another – Remember that not one of us is without sin. 

And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down – Put a smile on your face and think: you’re alive and still around.

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi Trailer

Finally the first promo of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi was officially released on the occassion of  Shahrukh Khan’s birthday, i.e., on 2nd November. Th promo is of the song “Haule Haule” featuring Shahrukh Khan and newcomer Anushka Sharma. Not wasting any more time, here go watch the trailer.

Aamir Khan Starrer – Ghajini – First Look

Ghajini is an adaptation of  Memento, the critically acclaimed film by Christopher Nolan. The protagonist of the movie suffers from anterograde amnesia or short term memory loss and seeks revenge for his wife’s murder. Ghajini features Aamir Khan, Asin Thottumkal and Jiah Khan in lead roles. A. R. Rahman has scored the music for the film.

There has been lots of talks regarding the looks – near-bald crew cut with conspicuous scars – Aamir had got for the movie. The actor will be showing off his eight-packs in the film, which has become a tad bit boring now. There is whole lot of buzz regarding the release of Ghajini. The movie is slated to release worldwide on December 26, 2008.
