Dating Allowance anyone??

Well…we all know that..in this Kalyug …bhalaai ka zamaana hi nahi raha!! At least that’s what Wipro chairman Azim Premjee must be saying. Poor chap, got sued for giving something called “dating allowance” to his employees.

Well a new trend visible in the corporate world is issuing dating allowance to the employees. Since in high pressure jobs employees end up spending more time with each other and obviously there is “chemistry” n attraction!

So the company in order to show its concern for the personal lives of their employees help them take the next step in their lives. But then what do you do with the allowance, if you are already married? Well you take another girl out and guess what… u get taken to court by your wife and also get the company sued!!

Is silence always gold?

 

Someone just told me the other day that “Speak less to people whom who love the most, cos if they can’t understand your silence, they can never understand your words.”  Well I know speech is silver, silence is gold.

But dear I believe that silence is a text easy to misread and I think spiteful words can hurt your feelings but silence breaks your heart and do you know silence propagates itself, and the longer talk has been suspended, the more difficult it is to find anything to say?

 

So now on if I call up someone and someone speaks little and I do the blah blah, which is the case most of the time……..what am I supposed to make out of it? Is that someone listening …or..rather…..reading?

I am two good!

Well, it was a hectic day, I must say… which wrapped up with me completing two tasks at one go!

My day began With Vikram constantly reminding me that I had to complete the theme I had started off with last Monday. I know it has been over a month since he uploaded a new theme and there had been public demand for new theme. So with the theme finally done I can breathe easy. I must say, more than Vikram, his visitors have become more demanding and keep on leaving messages for a new theme. So guys, be happy here is a new theme – Candlelight.

At Vikram’s request, I tried my hand at creating a favicon. Well, for the uninitiated, a favorite icon or favicon is the sweet little icon you see when you add a site to your favorites or boomark a page. This icon can also be seen in your browser address bar and also next to the page’s title in a tabbed document interface, such as Firefox.  which is not much popular in India though. In Internet Explorer you see the IE logo but hear now the favicon can also be seen in IE 7 with the introduction of tabbed browsing. Talking of IE 7, the bad news for all those having pirated windows installed in your machines, sorry people Microosft doesn’t allow you the luxury of IE 7. Well in case of Vikram’s blog, you see that “V”….well that’s been done by moi and if anyone interested to know how you can also add it to your site, it’s pretty easy. Read my other blog “Positively M.A.D..” to know how you can set up a favicon.

But, I must thank Vikram for having the belief in me and trusting me with the creation of new themes. It’s he who motivated me into trying out something new and with him breathing down my neck and at times getting impatient, it does bring out the better in me if not the best.

Yes, that’s what I am trying to do. Making A Difference in a postive way. I dont know why the title of the book caught my fancy and just registered a blog with this name -”Positively M.A.D.“  but never kinda posted anything in it

Recently, I finally decided what would I blog about. Very often it happens that I come across applications, softwares, webservices or any trivial thing, which I wish I could share with others and could be of some use. So here I am. Dont know how much of a difference will it make but hopefully will be helpful.

Now about the book which inspired the blog.  Get Positively M.A.D. - the book. With compostions by 50 leading authors, the book is a collection of stories, advice, examples, and ideas that show how to create positive change in your organizations, your communities, and the world.

So here’s hoping, despite the complexity of the world’s problems and inadequacies, and despite our own frustration with the current state of affairs, we can indeed Make A Difference.

Bhula Do – Video

Just seems that I cant take my mind away from the songs by this Paki band – Raeth…The song “Bhula Do” is so reminiscent of those old school n college days. Really makes me nostalgic.

Well, the laws and theories learnt during school days finally made some sense.

Raeth – the new-kids-on-the-block

After Junoon, Strings and Jal its now the turn of Raeth,

the latest Paki band, to create musical sensation in India. Raeth – comprises of Wajhi Farouqui on vocals, Hassan Farabi on guitars and Mustafa Asad on bass, dont know who the fourth guy is!!

The song “Bhula do” which is already climbing the charts, has three versions, in addition to a normal rendition, a club mix version and an acoustic one.
I was really impressed by their soulful lyrics – amazing play of words. Just two listening and am already humming their songs.
Out of the remaining eight tracks of their self-titled album, my personal favorite being “Kitne Zaalim Hain”..it goes something like…
Kitne zaalim hain, jo yeh kehte hain..
Tod lo phool, phool chhodo mat
followed by
Baghbaan hum toh is khayal ke hain
Tehniyon ka lahoo nichodo mat
Chhod do phool, phool todo mat.

Though the band members insist that they are different from “Jal“, they at times do sound like them e.g their “Bhula Do” reminds you a lot of “Woh Lamhey” by Jal.

Speaking of Jal – a favorite band of recent times – Jal’s lyrics are a subtle manifestation of emotions expressed in an energetic and harmonious manner. Their debut album “Aadat” was a huge hit not only in Pakistan but India and South Asia too Their videos of “Woh Lamhey” and “Ik Din Aayega” have been shot amazingly. Download them here.
Music is truly the world’s universal language capable of bringing our hearts and souls together. So here’s hoping for some good music from these people no matter from which side of the border.
